HARVEY BAINBRIDGE LIVE 2000 - CDR - Solo
This is a live CD-R, but the music is taken directly from the mixer and is superb quality! After a free verse introduction by festival emcee Thom the World Poet, Harvey launches into the "Black Hole" and shows himself to be a top notch creator of some very cosmic electronic space music! The music itself is sensational and this performance is a typically spaced out affair... long tracks, great synth layers, and some excellent Harvey scene setting as his intense spoken word vocals deftly guide listeners through the cosmic realms created by his music.

TRACK LISTING - Strange Daze Intro / Black Hole / Lost / Free Fall / Mutation Zone / DNA Lounge / Adrift / Who's to Say? / Turn On (The Light) / S.O.S / Just Say Know.

RED SHIFT -1996 - CD - Solo
8 tracks of spaced out cosmic trippyness! Science Fiction writer Steve< Palmer contributes a story of a cyber pilot's visit to an earth which is controlled by dolphins. From the first track "Solar Drive Down" you know you're in for an aural delight of another time and space! By track 2 you'll know you are listening to a master electronic artist as he creates a story in aural vision. Highly recommended to fans of spaced out cosmic-ness!

TRACK LISTING - Solar Drive Down / ..and he Smoked his Pipe and Talked to Them till the Last Whiff and then his Head Disappeared in a Cloud / Cygnus Loop / Blue Giant / Horseshoe and the Swan / 1,000% Solution / Long Lines at the Double Helix Bar / Out on the Surface

INTERSTELLAR CHAOS - 1993 - CD - Solo
Total spaced out cosmic music from one of the main people responsible for the "space" in the spacerock element of Hawkwind. Titles like "Mistiness in Orion's Head" and "In the Wake of Passing Clouds" gives you some idea where your head will be transported to! Harvey wrote, performed, & produced all the tracks, which are all instrumental. A must have for Harvey Bainbridge fans!

TRACK LISTING - Mistiness in Orion's Head / Caught in an Interstellar Net 1 / Caught in an Interstellar Net 2 / Cosmic Junk / Clouds of Venus / Dense Dust / The Sun in Hydrogen Light / Gravitational Pull / Voyager I (The Voyage) / Voyager II / In the Wake of Passing Clouds / Heading: Cygnus X-1 / Sunspot In H-Alpha Light / Light Curve / Star Cloud / Cosmic Bubble / Lost Orbit

THE ALMAN MULO BAND
w/ HARVEY BAINBRIDGE
*Harvey used the pseudonym Waki Gumbo Jr. on these early recordings.

HARVEY BAINBRIDGE: Keyboards & Vocals
NORMAN ALMAN: Percussion & Vocals
*Also appearing on AFRODIZIAC... Phil Deacon: bass / Richie Winearls: vox / Grant Oatley: vox

The Alman Mulo Band, under the leadership of Hawkwind bass and synth player Harvey Bainbridge, have been going for years - yet few Hawkwind fans have even heard of them!

The band was usually Harvey and Norman Alman - along with a few other contributing musicians such as Phil Deacon, Richie Winearls, and Grant Oatley. Besides being obscure, their music is difficult and hard to categorize even though the line-up gives a clue to their sound... a fusion of spacey synths, tribal percussion, and all around general weirdness.

ORISHA - 1985 (Cassette) - Released on CD in 1994
Harvey Bainbridge (Hawkwind) is one half of this duo in which he creates electronic soundscapes while partner Norman Alman adds percussion, vocals, & guitar. Orisha opens with a terrific piece "Electonique" which is reminiscent of Jean Michel Jarre (apart from the weirdness going on somewhere in the background) while the track "Too Late" combines relaxed synth packages with a hypnotic refrain. This hypnotic feel is prominent on the remainder of the album, particularly on "Automind" which also has the tribal percussion associated with the band's sound.

TRACK LISTING - Electronique / Too Late! / A Touch Like Ice / Get Up! / Choko Drives In (Toad on the Road) / Antario / Old Man from Japan / Partie d'Afrique / Automind

AFRODIZIAC - 1990 (Cassette) - Released on CD in 1993
This eccentric release takes ethnic electronics in a whole new and different direction and has an even stronger tribal feel than the earlier material. Obviously trying to be evocative of hot, sticky African nights, this CD is an entertaining listening experience of journeys through semi imaginary lands. It's jam-packed with fascinating jungle noises, warm Funky rhythms, a chilling blend of animal noises and environmental sounds that join voices to create a groovy, easy listening sound. This is purely there to entertain you - but there's still enough of an edge to make it as dangerous as losing your way and wandering off into the jungle!

TRACK LISTING - Intro / Cinshe Bane / It's Up To You / It Could Be Day / "Water / What's In It For Me? / All At Sea / Peaches Are Free / "Warriors Of Ancient Times", "Say Good bye", "No Hay Calabaja".

DIAMONDS & TOADS - 1994 - CD
The CD "Diamonds and Toads" is as strange as anything they had done previously - particularly "To Hell In A Handbag" which is an eerie synth piece with sampled dialogue of people talking about guns. "Smart Drinks in the DNA Lounge" is another very weird one while the following track "An Integrated Smart Dream" is a very chilled and very trippy synth piece with saxophone from guest musician Dave Fisher.

TRACK LISTING - Nolo Asa Qui / Just Knockin' / Look at his Face / Smart Drinks in the D.N.A. Lounge / An Integrated Smart Dream / Emergency / Battersea Power Station / To Hell in a Handbag / Hammer that Nail / Gone Home
